ACT Open

2011 ACT Open Championships

The ANU Kendo Club will host the Open Goodwill Competition over the weekend of 10th and 11th September 2011. All registered AKR members are invited to attend this event to represent their clubs or dojo’s and gain experience in refereeing duties.
The competitions will focus on Teams, Kyu Grades and shimpan practice and will include:

  1. ACT Open Kyu Grade Individual Competition
  2. ACT Open Teams Competition

The Kyu Grade Individual Competition will allow 1st-Dan and 2nd-Dan grade players to participate in Shimpan duties as Fuko-shin (assistant referee). Players with a grade of 3rd Dan and above will be expected to take on the Su-shin (chief referee) duties.
The ACT Open Teams Competition is the premier event and is intended to give clubs the opportunity to field more than one team. Players with a grade of 3rd Dan and above will be expected to take on both Su-shin (chief referee) and Fuko-shin (assistant referee) duties. All 3rd Dan & above are encouraged to bring their Judging Uniforms.
Where possible, teams shall be formed into pools to provide the maximum amount of matches for competitors.
